“I have a dream that my little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Known for his leadership of the civil rights movement in the USA, Martin Luther King Jnr. was a champion of nonviolence. Repugnant to some, a hero to others, there is no disputing the size of the man. His qualities - depth and breadth of vision, single-mindedness of purpose, organising ability, the power to move through speeches, his sheer energy - mark him out as exceptional.

The CD includes five lessons for students and teachers to follow. Suitable for strong KS3 classes through to A level this resource is invaluable for the study of human rights, prejudice and peaceful but effective responses to conflict in Citizenship, History and RE classes.

The lessons use audio-video clips, discussion, letter-writing, role play, drama, design and imagination. Notes are included for each lesson with video transcripts, additional information and suggestions for further work.

This dual function CD features a selection of materials on King’s life and his work for peace. Listen to his speeches on a CD player or find much more using a computer.
